By car
From A4 highway take “Bergamo” exit and follow the directions for Città Alta. Once at the entrance of the Venetian walls (Porta Sant’Agostino) pass through the archway and turn left. Continue along Viale delle Mura until the T-intersection at Largo Colle Aperto, turn left and pass under Porta Sant’Alessandro. At the junction turn right and continue for 500 metres along Via San Vigilio. At the church turn right (sharp bend) into Via al Castello and after 50 metres on your left you will find Relais San Vigilio.
By train
From Bergamo station take the 1A bus line and get off at Largo Colle Aperto terminal. From here you can take the funicular, whose station is right after Porta Sant’Alessandro. Once got off the funicular, turn right and walk for 30 meters, Relais San Vigilio will be on your left.
When funicular is not working, take in Largo Colle Aperto the bus number 21 for San Vigilio and get off at the San Vigilio Castle stop. Enter the public parking in front of the bus stop and go up the stairs. Once arrived at the other parking, take the staircase which leads you to Relais San Vigilio entrance.
By plane
The nearest airport is “Il Caravaggio” at Orio al Serio and is only 5 km from the city center. To reach Bergamo catch the 1A bus line which will take you from the airport to Largo Colle Aperto. From here you can take the funicular, whose station is right after Porta Sant’Alessandro. Once got off the funicular, turn right and walk for 30 meters, Relais San Vigilio will be on your left.
When funicular is not working, take in Largo Colle Aperto the bus number 21 for San Vigilio and get off at the San Vigilio Castle stop. Enter the public parking in front of the bus stop and go up the stairs. Once arrived at the other parking, take the staircase which leads you to Relais San Vigilio entrance.
